About James Keith Roland, MD

James Keith Roland MD is a graduate of Austin College class of 1974, UT Southwestern Medical School Dallas 1978, and family practice residency John Peter Smith Hospital Fort Worth 1981. He began his practice in Weatherford, Texas in 1981 when there were no specialists except one general surgeon and one OB/Gyn. He delivered babies, did surgeries, set fractured bones, and treated all ages from birth until old age. When specialists moved into town, he with other family doctors had to limit his practice to not infringe upon the specialists’ practice. In 2017 he moved to Coleman and practiced in a small clinic until it closed down in 2018. He then went to work for a corporate clinic in Brownwood but had enough of corporate medicine and retired in 2019. In 2022 a Weatherford cardiologist convinced him to get his license back and he worked in Coleman until moving back to Weatherford in 2023.
